Where to park at Lane Stadium?

On Virginia Tech home gamedays, fans park in three places near Lane Stadium: official VT campus lots and garages like the Perry Street Parking Garage, private lots on Green, Center, and Harrell Streets within a 5–15 minute walk, and private driveways and church lots reserved ahead of time on our parking map. Closest walkable spots sell out first — reserve early.

What time do parking lots and gates open?

Per Virginia Tech Athletics, campus parking lots (donor and public) open at 7 a.m. for Saturday games and close at 7 a.m. Sunday; for non-Saturday games they open after 3 p.m. and must clear before 6 a.m. the next day. Beamer Way closes from Southgate Drive to Washington Street 3.5 hours before kickoff, Hokie Village opens 3.5 hours out, and stadium gates open two hours before kickoff. There is no re-entry once you enter the stadium.

How much is Virginia Tech gameday parking?

Official VT campus parking is paid in the JustPark app on entry (cash is not accepted); ADA parking in Lot 25 in the Oak Lane Community is $50. Private driveways and lots near Lane Stadium on our map typically range from $20 for spots a 15–20 minute walk out to $60+ for premium driveways inside a 5–8 minute walk.

Is there public gameday parking in Blacksburg?

Yes — on Virginia Tech home football Saturdays, public gameday parking opens across Blacksburg: the Perry Street Parking Garage and surrounding VT public lots on campus, downtown Blacksburg garages and surface lots along Main and Draper Streets (a 15–20 minute walk to Lane Stadium), and dozens of private driveways, church lots, and business lots listed on our map — all open to the public.

Where are the cash parking lots near Lane Stadium?

Accepted Answer

Most private cash parking lots near Lane Stadium are church lots on Main Street and business/driveway lots along Southgate, Kent, Progress, Green, and Harrell Streets — attendants take cash at the gate on gameday. Bring $20s; hundreds rarely get change. On our map, listings without a 'Prepay' badge are cash on arrival. The exception is official VT campus lots like Perry Street Garage — those are JustPark app only, no cash accepted.

How do I reserve a parking spot?

Open the parking map and tap a spot you like. Listings with a 'Book on [site]' button link straight to that host's own reservation page. Official VT public lots don't take reservations at all — you pay in the JustPark app on gameday, first come, first served.

Our closest listings are a 4–6 minute walk. Prices reflect distance — the closer the spot, the higher the price.

Can I tailgate at my spot?

Accepted Answer

Most driveways and lots allow tailgating — look for the 'Tailgating allowed' badge on the listing card. In official campus lots, Virginia Tech requires tailgates to stay in the space immediately behind your vehicle, with no throwing footballs or frisbees, no blocking roadways or sidewalks, and no amplified sound systems, bands, or DJ equipment. Canopies can't go up before game day and must be down by noon the following day.

Do you offer RV or oversized-vehicle parking?

Yes. Public RV parking is available in the Student Remote Lot (Smoot Drive in the Corporate Research Center) and at the Inn at Virginia Tech for all Virginia Tech home football games. Student Remote Lot passes are sold on a single-game, first-come, first-served basis and are managed by the Virginia Tech/Montgomery Executive Airport. How do I get to the stadium without driving?

Blacksburg Transit runs an expanded game-day schedule and is free to all riders. Routes drop at the Transit Center near the Perry Street garage, where you board the Campus Shuttle (CAS) to stops near Cassell Coliseum. Uber and Lyft pickup and drop-off is on Washington Street next to the Hahn Garden.
